The Boulevard SL maintains a comfortable temperature in spaces up to 417 square feet with its state-of-the-art Ventless design and 14,000 BTUs for Natural Gas and 12,000 BTUs for Liquid Propane. A 10,000 BTU version is approved for installation in bedrooms (where permitted by code), allowing you to create the ultimate warm retreat. The Empire Boulevard SL Ventless Gas Fireplace is equipped with an electronic intermittent pilot ignition system, an On/Off wall switch, and a battery backup for usage in the event of a power outage. You can also switch to a wall thermostat, remote control thermostat, or programmed remote control instead of the On/Off switch. The electronic intermittent pilot ignition system incorporates a cutting-edge pilot safety system that automatically shuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out, as well as an Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) that continuously monitors CO2 levels in the room. If the oxygen supply falls below a safe level, the ODS will turn off the fireplace. The Boulevard SL is designed to fit into a stud-framed wall, with the valve and control module hidden below the burner. The gas supply can be routed below, through the side, or out the back of the fireplace through openings in the casing. Recessed, slightly recessed, and surface-mount installation choices allow you the freedom to choose the placement that best suits your space and desired style. Recessed Installation: Since it only has a 5.5-inch depth, the Boulevard SL may be fully placed in a 2 x 6 stud-framed wall. To achieve a stunning, clean-faced look, put tile or stone up to the rectangular opening. The optional trim kit completes the opening by concealing the tile or stone borders and adjusts in depth from 1/2 to 1”. Installing the provided non-combustible material above and to the sides of the fireplace, as well as tile or stone up to the fireplace opening, is required for recessed installations. Partially Recessed Installation: The Boulevard SL can be partially recessed and finished with one of two fronts in a 2 x 4 stud-framed wall. Installing the provided non-combustible material above the fireplace and a Mitered Decorative Front is required for partially recessed installations. Surface-Mount Installation: Install the Boulevard SL just like a framed painting on any wall, including brick, stone, or drywall, and finish it with a stylish front. The Mitered Decorative Front and Fireplace Wrap are required for Surface-Mount installation.
